I’d like to preface this review by saying Tina will make your skin look amazing, plump and smooth… I went here for a facial. I cannot speak on her brow shaping, but I’m sure it’s lovely. She was friendly enough and uses all sorts of innovative products and techniques. I enjoyed how my skin looked for weeks after my appointment with her. The salon doesn’t have a front-desk person, and when you arrive to her suite, you should just wait at the chairs. If you walk into her space, you will walk in on another client. I learned that the hard way.
Since I’d never been there before, I had no idea and there were no signs or warnings or anything, so don’t be a dummy like me. This isn’t a frilly, relaxing type facial. You will be in the clothes and shoes you showed up in and in bright lights the entire time. She explained every step of her process and even mentioned the ingredients she was using, so that was good. I mentioned that I try to only use natural products and she recommended an herbal supplement that I am very happy with. I am extremely confident you will love going here if you don’t want a fru-fru facial, and just want glowing skin!

I have been seeing Tina for a good year and a half for my brows and HydraFacial, and she’s a perfectionist at both with years of experience. The HydraFacial is really amazing. It’s non-invasive with no downtime, and I have very sensitive skin. When she combines this with Microderm, you can’t go wrong. I feel like my skin is so squeaky clean after I see Tina, like my skin was vacuumed clean!! The HydraFacial just deep cleans my pores, exfoliates, extracts, and hydrates all at the same time. I’m sold.

Tina is an absolute God sent for someone with problem skin like myself. Since age 10, I have hosted an endless parade of dermatologists, endocrinologists, naturopathic healers, and nutritionists in desperate attempts to heal my savage cystic acne. None of whom ever managed to make a difference in my skin and all of whom told me to simply accept a life of pustules and pock marks. The latter had all but consumed my face before I finally met Tina.
I began seeing her for Dermarolling to level out the scarring I was left with. It was a time of rediscovery for me. I had spent ten years in a relationship where I was either verbally berated or ignored, and had resolved to simply neglect my appearance. The acne that had already been a problem became devastating. When the relationship finally ended, I was left disfigured inside and out.
My mother suggested I try dermarolling, something she had heard about on a local radio program. I searched online and found Skin and Brows by Tina. She immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable. She prepared me for the treatment, and walked me through each step, making certain I understood what she was doing.
After my initial Dermarolling treatment, I was astounded. For the first time in my life, I saw a break in my acne and was actually able to visualize the face that had lay hidden under the rolling and boxcar scars. I had simply come to accept them as “building character”.
Trusting in her skills, I have since adopted her own skincare products “Tina Assi Medical Skincare Acne Control System.” For the first time in my life, feel like I’m not wearing some kind of scar buckled, acne ridden mask, but have a face of my own. It’s truly liberating to talk to another human being and have them actually look you in the face rather than catch their eyes drifting to the latest carbuncle or icepick gouge you’ve acquired.
Her system is by far superior to anything pushed on me by doctors. I only wish I had discovered her product before years of tetracycline discolored my teeth and Accutane rendered me a depressive mess. I consider myself on the road to recovering my life, and Tina is the person who made that possible.
I currently see her for Inno Pen, to help manage residual scarring and acne. I will continue to use her Acne Control System so long as I am living in this skin! I have even begun seeing her for eyebrow waxing/shaping services. It’s funny, but before, I never would have bothered with something like my eyebrows. My face was such a mess I would have thought it pointless. As I rediscover myself, Tina has guided me in proper cosmetic brow shaping techniques, so that I can have them looking great even on the days I’m not lucky enough to see her.

Although we become wiser with age, our appearance does not always comply. This new year, I made the commitment to myself that I would take care of me the best I could. When I met Tina, I asked for her professional observation to help me in this new journey. I had been forced into menopause at an early age due to battling breast cancer, and with this, I had felt extreme hormonal and hydration depletion.
Tina knew immediately that before I started any treatment, that she would need to prep my skin and guide me on some external healing before we could go any deeper. She knew my skin better than I, and her objective was to help me feel and look healthy again. The first treatment I had with her was a Hydra Facial, which gave me this incredible skin back that I had not seen or even felt in over a decade. That puts me back to my 30’s! When Tina knew that my skin was ready, she would consult with me again before we proceeded with any peels which I desired due to hormonal changes.
This past week I had my first VI Peel which was absolutely amazing. The appearance of my skin has given me back the confidence I truly needed to feel great again. I will follow up next month with a procedure called Innopen, to help smooth my fine lines and the small patch of scaring I had left from a minor bout of adult hormonal acne. When this is complete, I will commit to a series of Hydro Facials. What woman would not gift herself a series of Hydra Facials while aging? By far the best gift you could ever give yourself to stimulate and retrain cell growth.
My daughter’s are also clients of Tina’s, and we feel beyond grateful to have her here in San Diego!
